Couscous Soup with Sausage  
Ingredients
1 tablespoon chopped jalepe/+/-o peppers
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 pound fully cooked smoked sausage, cut crosswise into 1/4-inch slices
2 1/2 cups water
1 can (10.75 oz) condensed chicken broth
1/2 cup couscous
2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 medium tomato, seeded and chopped

Directions
Cook chilies, oil, cumin, garlic, and sausage in 3-quart saucepan over medium heat about 8 minutes or until sausage is brown; drain.
Add water and chicken broth. Heat to boiling. Stir in couscous, mint, and pepper; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Stir in tomato. Serve with chopped parsley, finely chopped garlic, and lemon juice if desired.
