Michael Lavin, Executive Chef for Gooseberries Fresh Food Market & Courtyard Catering has been with the organization for over 10 years. After completing his undergrad, Chef moved to New York to refine his passion for cooking at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. After gaining fifteen years of valuable experience with different companies all over the Midwest Michael settled in Southeastern Wisconsin where he began his relationship with the Spiegelhoff family in 1998. Together they worked tirelessly to create a catering company that offers "simple elegance."
Courtyard Catering has gained a reputation of creating magnificent food and beautiful presentations while always making guest services a priority--Never an afterthought. Fresh ingredients are highlighted and celebrated to make each event memorable for all the right reasons. Chef Michael has been featured in Bon Appetit Magazine and showcased on local television programs throughout his career.
When Michael is able to get out of the kitchen he enjoys spending time with his wife, Lori and their three children or attending the theatre.
